The Reebok Sports Club in Canary Wharf has been a long term and much loved client of Oval Cube for many years and last autumn we were called to their offices to discuss the company’s digital strategy for the forthcoming year.

A fully managed search & social media strategy. Just what we like!

A visit to the Reebok Sports Club never fails to remind you how large and impressive this flag ship gym is. One of the largest gym’s in Europe, it even boasts a fantastic, critically acclaimed restaurant as well as exceptional fitness facilities, all overlooking the impressive Canada Square in the heart of the City’s financial district.

Reebok wanted to up their game with a whole new website as well as a fully managed search and social media strategy. Just what we like!

After much hard work and many late nights, this spring (2011) we have launched the new Reebok Sports Club website, “Balance” blog and integrated and managed social media pages on Twitter and Facebook.

Over the coming months, additional ecommerce facilities enabling online Spa booking and club membership activation and renewal will be added as well as building and developing online gym user “communities” through social media.

With so much work to do, we haven’t time to go to the gym!

The Queensbury Fight League gives boxers from all walks of life and skill levels the opportunity to compete and test themselves just like the professionals.

After a brief sparring session (we ran away!), the good people at Queensbury challenged us to design and build a top end website worthy of a world champion and a digital strategy to grow the business faster than a Rocky training session.

A digital strategy to grow the business faster than a Rocky training session.

After a quick team talk with our corner man and a rub down with the magic sponge, our designers and developers set about the task and we’re very happy with the final result.

Dark and brooding, the new Queensbury Fight League website now promotes multiple events, fantastic new fight cards and video promos of up and coming grudge showdowns.

The whole website is run but our bespoke Content Management System, enabling Queensbury staff to add, edit and promote their own online material.

With a fully integrated WordPress Blog, Facebook and Twitter feeds and a fantastic new newsletter publishing system, Queensbury really can punch above its weight! Queue the Rocky 4 sound track …

The smashing people at Ueberlabel contacted the Oval Cube hot line requesting a high end ecommerce solution for the fashion conscious and trendy, but with a twist. The finished store must enable multiple sellers to sell their wares. Some twist!

Like the mad people that we are, we decided to build an ecommerce system from the ground up, just the way we wanted it. No third party solutions or borrowed technology. All our own code, design and architecture.

No third party solutions or borrowed technology. All our own code, design & architecture.

After six months of very hard work and many, many weeks of testing, phase one is alive and kicking and it’s safe to say that we’re pretty proud of our new baby and so is the owner!

In addition to engineering the nuts and bolts of the store, we’ve hooked the whole solution up to all the necessary social media channels and search engine marketed the wheels off it, ensuring that this new store has a constant stream of new shoppers.

With phase two of the development now beckoning, we’ve taken a deep breath, put stack of fifty pence pieces by the Oval Cube office meter and told our better halves not to wait up!

The Ready Made Designs website was a real labour of love and a huge thank you has to go out to its designer Jacob Lee. The design went through a considerable number of iterations and Jake put a huge effort into the very special illustrations. Big thanks Jake.

A special mention also to Tom Warner for bolting the whole thing together. The project was a great team effort by Oval Cube and is testament to everyone who worked on it. Thanks for all of your efforts gentlemen. Steve.

After an awful lot of hard work (mainly from Jake), our new low cost website service is finally born … Ready Made Designs, and to say we are excited would be just a little bit of an understatement.

So what’s it all about I hear you ask? Well, after working for some of the worlds largest companies on lots of bespoke websites and apps, we fancied diluting our expertise into an exciting service that small businesses and start ups could afford.

We fancied diluting our expertise into an exciting service that small businesses & start ups could afford!

We had a good look around the Interweb to understand all the options available to those setting up their first website and came up with a product that is a little bit different.

Each of our designs is entirely bespoke to its client and created by one of our in house designers (not outsourced to halfway across the globe). In addition, each website is crafted from a base design which we have honed and researched over the past 6 months so that everything works across all the main browser variations (IE6 and above, FireFox, Chrome, Opera and Safari) and is compliant with W3C regulations.

On top of this we also provide a highly functional Content Management System, a fully hosted service, website analytics and a really flexible payment plan enabling our clients to keep on top of their cash flow and focus on their businesses.

So all in, we think we’ve come up with a great little package for the small website owner. We hope you like our product. We are pretty excited about it and we’d love to hear your feedback.
